About the Heritic
Early-2000s classic reborn – the Heritic returns with TPR toe cap, full cupsole support, and arch comfort
The Heritic is a blast from Emerica’s past, originally born in the early 2000s and now reintroduced with modern tech for today’s skating demands. This classic silhouette was designed as a no-nonsense, everyday skate shoe that could handle all the demands of street and park sessions, and the reissue stays true to that formula while adding updates for improved performance.
Durable Construction for Every Skate Session:
The Heritic features a double-stitched TPR rubber toe cap, designed to protect the shoe from flick damage. The TPR overlay acts as a built-in bumper that can take the repeated impact of kickflips and ollies without wearing out, giving you one less thing to worry about. To further reinforce its durability, the Heritic uses triple stitching in high-wear zones and a durable suede upper that stands up to constant abrasion, making this shoe a true workhorse.
Comfort and Support Built-In:
With a cupsole construction, the Heritic delivers more support and impact protection than a traditional vulc, while still keeping the shoe flexible and responsive. It also features an EVA foam footbed with arch support, giving you the comfort needed for long skate sessions. The shoe’s chunkier shape offers a more stable fit, a nod to the early-2000s style, and provides snug support without sacrificing comfort. A moderately padded tongue and collar add to the overall cushion while keeping the profile slim enough to maintain that technical look.

Care & Maintenance
Built to skate and made to last, Emerica footwear will hold up best with regular, low-effort care. Brush off dirt after sessions, spot clean gently with a soft cloth or brush, and let your shoes air dry naturally.
Store them in a cool, dry place between wears, and avoid direct heat or harsh washing methods. A little maintenance goes a long way in preserving the fit, feel, and life of your pair.

I'm very very bummed to be writing anything negative about any of my emericas, this was the first time buying the heritic shoe. I was super impressed by the heavy duty toe cap and sole. But..... there is a tradeoff and it happens to be comfort. My pinky toes are beat up after only 2 days.
I have accumulated 16 hrs, (2hrs were spent skating, flat ground tricks and pushing only) the shoes fit and skate amazing outside of the toe area being a bit wide, so me not wanting a repeat toe thrashing I doubled up my socks and tried again and still my toes look/feel like I've been throwing kickflips barefoot.

I used to wear Emericas a lot as a teenager and one of my preferred models was the Heretic because the rubber toe cap seemed to last longer than most shoes. Fast forward to 2025 and I got some of the newly remade Heretics and I really like them. They’re not as puffy as the originals and seem to have a little more board feel (thinner outsoles) than them too. The flick is great, but I had to change out the insoles to some Remind Insoles. The stock ones weren’t cutting it with my 33 year old feet. Haha. Overall, I love them and hope they keep them around for years to come!

These shoes are so comfortable and clean looking. I love them. They were one of my childhood favorite shoes back in school and now 33 years old and I now have multiple pairs of these shoes again. I love them, affordable durable and very clean.

The review the guy left about the heretics is bullshit.. it’s bound to happen one pair has a defect! I have bought emerica shoes since 2000 and have had so many over the years, including the reissue OG-1 3 colorways and brown heretics.. they are amazing for skating and comfy for every day use! Emerica is one of the last remaining skate companies that Nike or adidas couldn’t get rid of.. Emerica is badass and I have never had a problem with the shoes! **** yes to emerica love this company!!

I haven’t had these shoes for a month and the rubber toe is split open and the stitching is coming undone. Looks terrible. Will not buy from Emerica again.

They’re great, feel great and look great. Sole tech is a very important brand in skateboarding and Emerica will always hold a special place in my heart. I still have the Stay Gold DVD and I watch it often. Please don’t let Nidecker forget the importance that sole tech has in the world of skate footwear. The context and contrast of these unique brands really puts into perspective how much big companies like Nike and Adidas need sole techs authenticity stemming from core skate culture. Or else we’ll lose sight of where we came from, and the story these shoes tell. Love you guys, keep shredding

Quality Made shoes at a good price, so good I purchased another pair in white a few months later.
Maybe runs a little narrow in the toe, squeaks on floors like a basketball shoe.... Loosening my laces a bit helped with tightness. Some versions come with a leather upper which is great anti stain resistance.
